The big update today was he pooped out a diaper.  And while I was focusing on cleaning poop he peed all over everything.  I brought his legs down and he had pee on his face, head, diapers above his head, and the wall.  No photos were taken.

We also went for a run/walk at 7 am this morning.

Baby sleep

Kayed just slept for 8 1/2 hours and woke up at 6.  And mommy slept for 7 hours straight.  Kayed did not wake up crying but cooing instead.

I was hoping to run out to the doctor's office to get his vaccination forms for daycare.

But I was a bit hungry and he was a bit fussy so I put him down at 10 and are something.

He's still asleep!!!!!!  We are going to hit the 3 1/2 hour mark soon.

But I still won't wake him.

Today's exciting workday

Crazy day so I'm exhausted.

Bingo and I got up at 5 and were out the door by 8.  I know three hours but he was fed, I wasn't, I showerd, he napped and I worked.  

We got the flat tired fixed and were able to get to the Townhouse by 10:30.

He was very good and nursed on the fourth floor.  He was a huge hit w all the ladies.  

Of course when the panel started he wanted to talk.  I tried to leave him upstairs in an office but he just chatted loudly and then wouldn't sleep.  I got my workout running up and down the stairs.

Of course he fell asleep after it was over.  And he slept in the car as I drove Missy home.

He went down easily tonight.

Boring Day Became Crazy

Kayed slept okay - not the 9 hours he did before.  He only woke once and let me sleep until 6:30.

We did some tummy time and he can now hold his head up.

He really loved the praise. And was smiling until I whipped out the camera.  But I do have on video me asking him to lift his head and him doing it.

Oy he was okay in the bath but he did not like the drying off and dressing part.  He peed on his towels (already washed and dried - yeah stackable) and mommy does not know how to put on a onesie.

But he nursed and finally took a long nap.  Too long because we had to leave at 6 to go to my friend's book reading.

Peyton Marshall's the GoodHouse.  I'm half way through it - it's a good read.

But when we left the house I saw the car's front tire was flat.  Grrrr today would have been a good day to fix it.  Live and learn and flat tires happen.

My neighbor (one of the good ones) happened by and he said he would put on the spare.  And he told me to take off to my event.

Kayed and I raced there - it was 80 and crazy humid today.  But Kayed even though he was hungry was in good spirits.  He loved the wind.

The book reading was great and I got to see some old friends from high school.  There were no seats so I had to feed him standing up.  I have to say I was rather impressed with myself.  I even was able to open a bottle of water and drink w my other hand.  The kid is small I know.

But my friends as always are great and they held him after.

So tomorrow we will go to NTB and get a new tire befoe my WHTC luncheon.  Hopefully it won't be so hot.

Busy weekend

Friday night bingo got lots of snuggles and cuddles from Aunt Alysha and Uncle Andrew.

Saturday Bingo went to go to his 3rd cousin's 2nd birthday party.  He had a great time looking at all the kids and staring at all the bright things.  He also got his first goody bag.

Mommy was also able to get him to take a nap during the chaos.  It was only a 30 minute nap.

Sunday we went to brunch at the great sage.  Mama had pancakes and Bingo had milk in a bottle that was NOT warmed.  His daycare provider is going to love me.

Later Baby Bingo was able to talk to his Godsisters and Godmother on Skype.  They read him books and he babbled back.

2 month shots

It's been a very hard day for both of us.

Yesterday was a great day.  Bingo laughed a lot, slept a lot, and overnight slept for 6 1/2 hours.  He was a bit fussy with his second morning nap. He must have known what was coming - his two month shots.

Hurrah I had a good long nap!

The doctor's appointment went well.  He is now 11 lb and 2.5 oz.  He's gained 20% of his body weight from last time.  He is still in the 25th percentile for a formula fed baby.  He's in the 90th percentile for head size.

I was really freaked out for the shot. But Bingo was great when he got it.  He cried but only briefly and then he nursed.  He got one jab in each thigh.  And one vaccine was oral.  

A few hours later he lost it completely. And he just howled for 30 minutes straight and wouldn't be consoled.  He also wouldn't nurse.  I gave him some children's Tylenol which helped him a bit.

I was planning on coming to Alysha's but not sure if that was a good idea.  But he fell fast asleep in the car after a few red lights.

As I write this he's been asleep for 3 1/2 hours.  When he wakes Alysha will give him a bottle and I'll go for a walk.

I feel like I've been crying for days - so hard to watch him hurt.

Some things don't change

I got to see lots of friends this weekend - just like before Bingo came to existence.

Friday night we spent a lot of quality time with Uncle David.  We went to the Coupe and watched the game.  Uncle David refers to the nipple cap as the acorn cap.

Saturday after a very very long nap for both mommy and baby - we saw Aunt Janie on our way to Fancy's Baby shower.  Then Bingo dressed as a lobster was passed around to everyone.  Not only did we get to celebrate with Greg and Stacey, we got to see Miasia and Jen who mommy hasn't seen in ages. 

After that we went to Auntie Sabiha's for Eid.  Kayed was passed around again until he was too tired.  

And once again mommy was able to get a sleeping baby out of a car seat and into his bassinet.

Bingo is a but indifferent with Stacey.  I think it's because Bingo believes Stacey is holding his friend hostage in there.

Bingo went w me to work today

Yes maternity leave is over and I'm back to work.  Shit show mix up w my leave and what I'm eligible for - if I never head "well if you had a vaginal birth or lived in California" it will be too soon.  How many people have I explained to - we knew it was a planned C and I live in DC so is there a reason I need to know any other state's leave policy when asking about my return.

My boss is the best.  He knows I don't have childcare until Nov 3.  He's told me take care of the baby first and then the job.  I'm telecommuting until Nov 3.

Of course I put pressure on myself to get in at least 8 solid hours of work a day.  But I must remind myself that I worked while on leave.  

There was also a mini drama today that I wouldn't get paid my next check because of a return glitch - seriously.

Anyway there was a meeting today and I went.  The baby slept through the whole thing so it wasn't a big deal.  The offices afer babysat him.  He woke up when it was time to leave.

But good news and bad news.

First the bad - I cut the baby.  I sniped his

finger when I was trimming his nails.  So much blood and screaming (him not me- I kept saying I'm sorry over and over).

I nursed him after I got him dressed and calmed down and took a photo.  He's been asleep for the last 3 hours.

The good news is I have a sleep expert coming to spend the night this Saturday. She said he is too young to sleep more than 5 hours (he's slept 7 hours straight twice) but she will give me a plan to get him structured and in a routine.

That is what I planned to do while on leave so at least something so coming together.
